Federal law requires your consent to allow TaxBit to use your tax return information for the purpose of generating Form 8949 and other cryptocurrency-related tax forms, as well as related services (together, the “Services”) that you requested. This requires your affirmative consent, which you can provide by clicking on the button. Unless authorized by law, we cannot use your tax return information for purposes other than the preparation and filing of your tax return without your consent.
By clicking on the “I Accept” button, you consent to TaxBit using your 2021 or other year tax return information for the duration and purposes described below.
Note that your consent will remain valid until and unless you affirmatively revoke it. And you are not required to complete this form to engage our tax return preparation services. If we obtain your signature on this form by conditioning our tax return preparation services on your consent, your consent will not be valid. Your consent is valid for the amount of time you specify. If you do not specify the duration of your consent, your consent is valid for one year from the date of signature.
You can also choose to authorize TaxBit to disclose your tax return information to any of our affiliate entities or corporate parent for the same purpose of providing the Services. By giving this consent, you authorize TaxBit to information such as personal and business information, filing status, cryptocurrency transaction and exchange connection information, and other information related to your use of the TaxBit Service.
If you believe your tax return information has been disclosed or used improperly in a manner unauthorized by law or without your permission, you may contact the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) by telephone at 1-800-366-4484, or by email at [email protected].
